My sister Kim was in town this weekend, so Dr. Brian and I signed up to run a Labor Day 5k with her. I have to admit I can’t run like I did back in my high school cross country days. Brian and Kim both left me in their dust, but I still managed to place 3rd in my age group! Kim did great, finishing 2nd female overall.
I can’t wait to sign up for more races out here. The Colorado views alone make it a worthwhile experience; the runner’s high is just a bonus! This is what we got to enjoy while running this morning:
We are looking forward to working at the Peach Fest this coming weekend on September 10 in Fort Collins. They will be kicking off the day with a 5k run/walk that starts at 8:30am. After the race, a “peachy breakfast” is scheduled at 9, followed by the festival from 10 to 3:30. We will be helping runners stretch before and after the race and will have a booth set up during the festival. Sounds like there will be a lot of peach-themed activities, beverages, and foods to try. I am personally excited to watch the peach pit spitting contest.
Hope to see you there!
