Autism and Chiropractic

New studies are showing positive impact on autistic characteristics — Things such as posture, gait, pain, attention, demeanor and more! Why is chiropractic helpful for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder? Research is proving what we already knew all along – there is a very strong relationship between the brain, spine, nervous system and the function of the entire body.

Recent Studies

The Journal of Upper Cervical Chiropractic Research published a case study in September 2017 showing improvement in posture, balance and gait in a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder following chiropractic care.

Research papers continue to pile up about the benefits of chiropractic care in those with Autism. This 2013 study showed an improvement in a patient’s Autism Spectrum Disorder symptoms of head pain, acid reflux, vomiting and sleeplessness. There were also improvements in her behavior, eye contact, attitude, focus and attention.

How Does It Help?

The body, brain and nerve system are intricately intertwined. By removing subluxation (stress or interference) from the nerve system, the body can adapt, heal and function better! This applies to those with Autism, as well as those without! We recommend chiropractic tune-ups for everyone, especially those looking to enhance or improve their day to day lives.
